Revised part of the Architecture chapter.

Finished the architecture part of the deliverable, drafted the OpenSocial API section (the implemented service still doesn't work on my local machine: what's the exact syntax of the REST call?). Data flows section just started, Beancounter introduction revised, SotA revised (waiting for lora and balth final version of their SotA part).

27 Jan

Continued to write on the deliverable. The beancounter architecture section is almost finished, I have to expand the OpenSocial paragraph and outline the data flows. Delivering date arranged for the 4th (8th is the date for the rewiew).

Begun the architecture section (4.1) of the deliverable. Described till the pipelines step. Some hints from davide and m. mostarda are required in order not to say wrong or vague things.. shall I have to talk about Java, code and other technical stuff? How much knowledge have I to require from the reader?

25 Jan

Revised the State of the Art part of the deliverable, fixed relative bibliography. Some interesting new papers found (http://people.csail.mit.edu/pcm/ESWC08PHD/balik.pdf, http://www.ru5.cti.gr/HT05/files/Maneewatthana.pdf: really so interesting?). How to place Balthasar part about recommender systems? As the final part of the SotA or as a theoretical introduction to Future Work, where we foresee the next step after modeling: recommendation. Data flows 4.4 section added, to describe some key data transformations within the beancounter. Libby will write this week, Dan still missing. Balthasar will follow another project this week. Tomorrow I'll begin the Architecture, to tell all the Beancounter story. We have to pack Vicky work about privacy and do we need a summary from libby about the work of Yves on notube?

Talked with Balthasar to define our efforts in the writing of the State of the Art chapter of the deliverable D3.1.
He will write a draft about generic recsys (Recommender Systems), to be integrated with our actual part about generic User Modeling Systems. I'll handle the Semantic Web technology based recommenders, also leveraging some of the papers he collected.
Read some of these papers and begun to write..
